The boys change so much and so quickly, and sometimes they do things that I want to make sure to remember forever because it's so cute.
- The way Alex keeps his blankie on his head. He just walks around the house with it all day draped over his head, and sometimes He'll actually wrap it around his body so it looks like he's wearing a fluffy blue burka.
- Max's OBSESSION with the alphabet. You can't take him anywhere without him pointing excitedly at signs "B!" "K!" "F!" "A!"... and heaven forbid he see's an "M" because then he goes ballistic. "M!!! M!M!M!M!M!M!M!!!!!!!!!!!!" M is also particularly cool, not only because it's "his" letter, but because if you turn it over it's a "duh ooo!" (W)
- The way Alex says "Mom" in two syllables "Mo-um" and can't for the life of him say "girl" it always comes out "grill".
- The way Max hisses at you if he wants a bit of what you're eating. It's not really a hiss exactly, he'll open his mouth wide and go "haaaaaaa". I took a video of this the other day and I need to post it.
- The fact that Alex would rather do arts and crafts over any other activity.
- The way Max follows his big brother around doing everything Alex does. (which is how we got him to pee in the potty the other day, though it has remained the only time he's done it)
- The way that the boys greet me when I come home from work. They both run as fast as they can to the door and give me big hugs. It's almost worth having to work to get that kind of welcome home reception.
- The way Alex is still my little boy. He wants to be with me, he wants to play with me, he still needs me, he misses me when I'm gone. This will change, I'm sure, and all too soon.
- The way Max shows his affection for me by pressing his face on my face. Squishing our cheeks together or our foreheads or our noses, sometimes he'll attempt a full face squish.
I thought I posted a comment yesterday, guess it failed because we were driving.
ReplyDeleteBut it said this pretty much, I miss those boys! You and John are doing a fantastic job with them. We are proud of you! Much love, G'ma Jen
